KAFETIA by THIS IS APRIL

Hello, guys! If you're a loyal customer of "THIS IS APRIL", yes...definitely you know about "KAFETIA", it's a fashionable coffee shop by "THIS IS APRIL." It has been opened since end of December 2015 and actually this's my late post since 2 months ago.=)  A great news is you can also shop at This Is April Boutique which's located on the second floor at the same building.

When my first entered to "KAFETIA", I felt a very warm welcome from the barista and all the staffs. They didn't forget to let you visit their boutique on the second floor. At that time, they're still in soft opening, so they gave free latte / cappucinno if you minimum purchase for IDR 150.000,- at "THIS IS APRIL"  I love how they decor this coffee shop with brick wall, white dominant, and pretty natural lighting. Some areas of white walls inscribed with the history of "THIS IS APRIL" and nice quotes of "KAFETIA".

Snickers Ultimate IDR 40.000,-

Nothing fancy in this photoshoot but the taste surprisingly GOOD! A must try if you're not a coffee drinker.

Raisin Danish IDR 16.000,-

It tasted moderate with affordable price because I prefer a crunchy texture of raisin danish.:D

Hot Cappucinno IDR 34.000,-

Hot Cafe Latte IDR 34.000,-

Actually it's a pretty good cafe latte which's using La Marzocco machine but I need a lil stronger than this one.

Overall it's a good place to enjoy drinks and meals downstairs at "KAFETIA" and shop the latest fashion collections upstairs at "THIS IS APRIL." ;) But, a lil feedback is they should make a stronger coffee!;)

YAMATOTEN ABURA SOBA

Many of us maybe already bored with ramen and udon because both of them are already easily found in Jakarta. So, let me try this another type of Japanese noodles which's called 'SOBA'. :) Just a briefly explanation what's the differences between Soba, Udon and Ramen??
  1. Soba noodles are noodles made of buckwheat flour, roughly as thick as spaghetti, and prepared in various hot and cold dishes. Soba noodles are served either chilled with a dipping sauce, or in hot broth as a noodle soup. It takes three months for buckwheat to be ready for harvest, so it can be harvested four times a year, mainly in spring, summer, and autumn. In Japan, buckwheat is produced mainly in Hokkaido.
  2. Udon is a type of thick wheat flour noodle of Japanese cuisine. Udon is often served hot as a noodle soup in its simplest form. It is usually topped with thinly chopped scallions. Other common toppings include tempura, often prawn or kakiage (a type of mixed tempura fritter), or aburaage, a type of deep-fried tofu pockets seasoned with sugar, mirin, and soy sauce. The flavor of broth and topping vary from region to region. Usually, dark brown broth, made from dark soy sauce is used in eastern Japan, and light brown broth, made from light soy sauce is used in western Japan.
  3. Ramen is a Japanese noodle soup dish. It consists of Chinese-style wheat noodles served in a meat, often flavored with soy sauce or miso, and uses toppings such as sliced pork , dried seaweed, kamaboko, and green onions. Nearly every region in Japan has its own variation of ramen.

Abura Soba IDR 59.000,-
Karami Ontama Abura Soba IDR 68.000,-

Original Abura Soba served with chopped spring onions, dried seaweeds, sesame seeds, bamboo shoots, and slices of tender roast pork.  Mmmm...maybe both of these look alike, but actually the other one's called "Karami Ontama Abura Soba" which's added spicy miso sauce & served with half boiled egg. Attention, guys! When it comes, don't take too long time to take a picture because it's quickly drying. But please don't forget to add two rounds of chili oil and vinegar before enjoying "SOBA". Overall it's good choice if you prefer a light taste of japanese noodles in small portion.:) Maybe I should try another "SOBA" in Jakarta to compare with this place.;)

PENNYROYAL COFFEE

Sorry...almost forgot to post about this hidden coffee shop in PIK area. Actually i've visited 'PENNYROYAL COFFEE' since more than two months ago.:) I had my yummy spicy lunch first with my sister at new Manadonese Eatery, it's called 'ROA Manadonese Food'. It's finished at 2.30 pm and then craving for coffee and lil bite of cake. So, we've decided to try this new coffee shop, Incidentally, the location just behind of 'ROA',

First stepped into this place, i love this calm ambience with white-grey dominant colors. Just a small space, but it's designed simple and cozy with many black and white frames hanging on the wall. One of the most interesting thing's you could meet with an adorable puppy to welcome the guests, but unfortunately i didn't took its picture at the time.

Hot Cafe Latte IDR 34.000,-

Hot Cappuccino IDR 32.000,-

LOVE both of Hot Latte and Cappuccino. So glad to enjoy 'Giyanti Coffee Beans' at here although the original coffee that served by Giyanti Coffee Shop is stronger than this one. Sorry i've forgot what's the name of this cake. But, still remember its moist texture and tasty, it's a right choice to be paired with my coffee.:)
