ARAI BAKESHOP & BRUNCH

If you find a tiny cozy place in south Jakarta area has been generally, even you can find a tiny spot with a separate toilet outside of the building.  That's why I always impressed with many tiny places in south Jakarta because you don't need a big space to make a cozy cafe.:D It just depends on how creative you design and decorate the place. 

A lil bit of surprise, when I've found a tiny 'ARAI Bakeshop" in Kelapa Gading area from Instagram, I was immediately curious with this place. Yes, when I first saw from outside, it's a tiny cute place with capacity approximately for five - six persons. You just need to be slowly because you could easily miss when passing this petite bakeshop, guys! 'ARAI Bakeshop'  might be petite but I won't use the word "cute" to describe it because I love the ambiance about it, there's something very simply, chic and unique about it. One of the most I liked it also because it's easy to get a nice photos with a bright natural lighting and white dominant. But, it would be a good idea if they replace the white tiles to polished concrete flooring like gray or charcoal colour.:) 

Cookies IDR 13.500,-

Fresh baked cookies are available here. They have some variety : Cornflakes marshmallow, sugar confetti and matcha white chocolate. Pick up your favourite one!;) 

Iced Chai Tea Latte IDR 25.000,-

Chai is a term used to refer to black tea throughout South Asia. In India, the word chai tends to mean a black tea blended with a mixture of warm spices like cardamom and cinnamon. In the Western world, chai has come to mean a beverage spiced with the warm spices found in the Indian version of the tea. Yes, I'm a BIG fan on 'Masala Indian Tea', so i've tried this 'Iced Chai Thai Latte' at the time, basically it's pretty good but I thought that too much ice inside became a lil bit tasteless, so next time I prefer the 'Hot Chai Thai Latte.'

Chicken Ginger Rice IDR 35.000,-

Here they don't serve many variety of main courses, they just provide breakfast and brunch menus like 'Arai Breakfast' (toasted whole wheat bread with sauteed chicken basil, mushroom, spinach and sunny fried egg), 'Chicken Ginger Rice', 'Spaghetti Classic Tomato Sauce' (spaghetti with homemade fresh garlic tomato sauce and smoked beef). 

At the moment I've tried their 'Chicken Ginger Rice', it's sauteed chicken breast in ginger and cumin sauce, they served it with warm rice and put sunny fried egg on the top. I feel that 'Chicken Ginger Rice' has done a good job creating a brunch menu that offers a good taste, worthy portion and affordable price.;)

Chocolate Swiss Roll IDR 15.000,-

If you just craving for light bites like cookies and cakes, this 'Chocolate Swiss Roll' could be a good option for you. It's similar with chiffon cake texture, light, soft, and balance sweetness with whipped cream inside. Actually the roll cakes available in two versions, another one is 'Matcha Swiss Rolls', but please be noted that Matcha only available on Thursday until Sunday. So, hopefully I could try 

Matcha Rolls on another day.;) 

Overall, I just can say that you don't need a big space for having an intimate catch up. A petite 'ARAI Bakeshop & Brunch' could be another good option, guys! PS...I thought that the owner of 'ARAI Bakeshop & Brunch' have a GOOD sense of photograph, I REALLY LOVE all the feeds on their Instagram.:) :) :) LOVE the simplicity and white dominant.

THE CAFFEINE DISPENSARY

 After my fifth visit here, finally had time to write a short review about "The Caffeine Dispensary." A coffee culture is booming lately at Kelapa Gading area and this place became one of my primary alternative to sip a good coffee. It's quite easy to find if you are Kelapa Gading citizen because it's located next to "Bakmi Kofei." 

This place has been opened since September 2015.  "The Caffeine Dispensary" is not just a coffee shop but concentrate to roast their own coffee beans also. I love this place. it's simple and not so big but very comfortable with a lil touch of industrial concept, used mostly the white color and some small coffee tables with two seats only, so you can enjoy your "ME TIME" at here.:) 

Hot Cafe Latte IDR 30.000,-

This cup of Hot Cafe Latte was NICE brewed, loving the balance of the coffee and the steamed milk creating a lovely overall flavor of Brazilian coffee beans. Just FYI...The coffee bar equipped with three groups Strada from La Marzocco.:) 

Smores Hot Chocolate IDR 35.000,-

Smoked Beef and Cheese IDR 55.000,-

They have three options of croissant: plain with butter and jam ,  smoked beef & cheese and smoked chicken & cheese. But we prefer to ordered a Croissant Smoked Beef and Cheese at the time. Croissant was fluffy and not mushy, it tasted good as well in every bite.:)

Red Velvet Cupcake

Nothing really special about this one, maybe i'm not a big FAN also of cup cake.:p 

 FYI...usually they open for public for Coffee Cupping Session, so please be attention on their Instagram about this invitation, guys.:) Overall it's always good to be back here. Thanks Rio and Andri for your pleasant service as usually and of course your good coffee!

RED BLANC COFFEE & BAKERY

'Red Blanc' is the latest join at MOI area, Kelapa Gading as a new comer coffee shop. As we know that previously existed are 'Coffee Tree', 'TOF Sicacilla' and 'I Hate Monday'. I've visited here since 1.5 months ago. Actually it's quite easy to find out because still in the same row with 'Coffee Tree'.

Just a short review because I just tried the coffee at the time, they didn't provide other snacks or desserts also because still a new comer, hmmm...maybe it's just opened around 1 week ago.hehehe. As a coffee geek, their coffee is not my favourite type of coffee beans. One of their barista told me that they have a typically burned coffee beans and mixed with syrup flavour. So, maybe that's why I felt my coffee's burned and bitter. 

Coffee is generally either medium roasted, dark roasted, or burned. When coffee beans are medium roasted, the full range of their abundant and satisfying flavors is brought out.  When coffee beans are dark roasted, they lose much of their subtle flavor but attain a deep richness that some enjoy, for example, in espresso.  When coffee beans are burned, it remains is bitter.

Besides their taste of coffee, I LOVE how they decor this coffee shop. It's quite big spacious with two floors and available a small private room for meeting with transparent door. I just can't get enough to captured all the corners at the time and THANKS sunshine for your beautiful lighting on our table.:D

Overall i love this place besides the burned coffee beans. Maybe should try the Korean Bakery or another beverages on my next visit.:)

SIX OUNCES COFFEE

ATTENTION PLEASE!:) Good news for Kelapa Gading citizens, especially for coffee addict like me because now we've another option besides 'TOF Sicacilla', 'Kopium Artisan Coffee' and 'Coffee Tree'. YES...welcoming 'Six Ounces Coffee' to satisfy our cravings for GOOD COFFEE! It's just opened since June, 6th 2015 but they don't just serve a good coffee but also supported a homey & cozy ambience, pretty interior, nice songs and absolutely very pleasant services.:) This place is owned by Mr. Ariel Giovanni & Mrs. Mellisa Susanto, they're such a humble and friendly owners, glad to meet with them at the moment. 

They named with 'Six Ounces Coffee' from the ideal size of Cappuccino, usually a traditional cappuccino has a very exacting recipe composed of 1/3 espresso, 1/3 steamed milk, and 1/3 foam. It's such a good idea.:) The most happy is glad to enjoy 'Giyanti Coffee Beans' at here, besides that they use also 'Common Grounds Coffee Beans'. 

Mini Coffee Bar

I love how they decorate this place with a dominant wooden furniture imported from Java area. Besides that, we could find some vintage unique stuffs at this place. I also like the coffee bar menu board, it's unique and like with that i've found last time at 'Spumante All Day Dining', Menteng.

It's not as strong as that usually served at Giyanti Coffee Shop but still presented with good balance of cafe latte.

Good choice on this sunny day. Very refreshing mocktails in a worthy portion.:) They have another five mocktails to choose, but I prefer this one because it didn't contain with soda.

Death by Chocolate IDR 28.000,-

Overall this place is highly recommended to visit. Next time surely comeback to try the other cakes and hopefully the kitchen which's still under construction will be finished soon, so they'll serve some kinds of meals also.:) Once again, THANKS 'Six Ounces Coffee' for bringing a good coffee with cozy atmosphere in Kelapa Gading area.
